Accessing PC files over a home wireless network

    Hi,

I have an HTC Touch loaded with WM6. I have a situation with the Wifi connectivity. I have Wireless LAN at home, and I am able to browse the net using the Wifi connectivity on my Touch. However, I am unable to figure out how to access files that are on my desktop.

Please suggest how to enable file sharing and how to access the files. Is there any configuration required in my wireless router?

    thanks

You can browse your PC using File Explorer on your device. So, open File Explorer and click Menu - Open path. Type your PC name and click OK. The screen will display a list of shared folders that are on your PC. Make sure you have the folders shared.

    Answer

With the standard File Explorer , you can only copy files across to your device and then open them from your device. I use Resco Explorer to open files without first copying them. So I have a number of movie files stored on my PC. I put them in a shared folder and then with Resco Explorere I can watch them from my device.
