Today I had a nice conversation with our iMate Sales Manager and  just renewed our iMate Authorized Reseller Agreement. I talked to him for a bit (he was our sales rep at another well known reseller company). And was talking about the numbers of the new Ultimate Line of Devices. I asked a few questions which I expected the answers to be vague, I have not read to much about the sale of the devices and asked why I have not heard anything about the Ultimate 9502 which I was stuck on until **cough** the Touch Pro....

But he did give me some numbers from one of their distributors and said that they sold 25 in less than 8 hours! I'm interest to see how numbers will be but what really impressed me about the 9502 was the battery..... a horse...1,660mAh included and I talked to a friend that test drove one and he told me it was day 3 before he had to put it on the charger.....

I'm very interested to see their direction from here and what is slatted on the table for them........Any more insight into iMate?

I really liked the 9502 but I've heard people are having a few performance issues with the ROM.  I'd be interested to hear how many 9502's i-mate have shifted globally.

 The i-mate Ultimate 6150 has caught my eye today.

Can anybody shed any light onto whether it is as awesome as its spec sheet would suggest?

Apart from the camera and the lack of inbuilt GPS, this would/should be comparible to the HTC Diamond surely. 

One of my favorite sites, Tracy and Matt's Blog, has a couple of posts about the 6150, including a video unboxing. Matt's verdict, in short, is that they are not nearly as sexy as some other devices, but that they are quite powerful and well-suited for enterprise:

"If I was deploying a workforce mobilisation application especially a field service one I’d definitely put these devices on my assessment list"

i-mate offered us the opportunity to review the 6150 or the 8150. The only difference between the two devices is the hardware phone pad. We chose to review the 8150 but the 6150 would be almost identical.  Check it out here:

 The review was enough to put me of these two devices, the bulk and the battery life (considering its size) along with no SDHC would rule these out for me, but it has made me look at i-mate again.

These are two very compitent enterprise models and a good new start for i-mate.

 I'm not sure if its a cooinsidence that they both had dud batteries, but we had two 8150s,  both of which you had to charge with the device turned off,  as the act of running the device consumed more power than the charger was actively charging it. 

Out of the Imates, my favorite to use has been the 8502. Brilliant device.

Dave how is the 9502?? the video out is what Iam really interested in, in a device....so I can use for presentations....That is what closed the deal on me choosing the Touch Pro....

 Most of the I-mate ultimates have VGA out.
