    msm issue

Is there a way to turn off the notification that a text message has been sent from the MotoQ?  I received mine today and have tried toggling with the notification area, but it is not working.  Any ideas?

Welcome josh19p7 - if you go to Start, System Tools, Settings, Sounds - then scroll down, you will find the box for the New text message - you can select 'None' as the sound.

    Hope this helps.

I dont know if this is permitted but if you do a Google search for No SMS sent message Q. It will take you to another forum that has a registry entry editor that allows you to turn that off. If you would like more specifics please contact me privately. Thank you!

    Re: msm issue

Thank you for the fair warning Bill. I do consider myself an advanced user. And the changes I am talking about are all included in a simple cab file that only needs to be ran and it makes all the changes for you. I myself have a Q9c but had a Q before that and am well versed in the modifications available for both models of the phone. I appreciate the fair warning and disclaimer for those users who are not as comfortable as myself when it comes to making these changes.

If anyone would like to make this change but does not want to edit the registry key manually there is an excellent application called Tweaks2k that will give you a nice front end GUI to do this and about another 150 handy little changes.  Check it out here:

     http://www.tweaks2k2.com/portal/staticpages/index.php?page=20050224182009983

You'll notice that item 115 will disable the message sent notification.

If on the other hand you quite happy editing the registry using a reg editor such as Resco Explorer (free trial available) go to:-

    HKLM>SOFTWARE>Microsoft>Inbox
Tap and hold on a blank part of the screen and create a new key called Settings and within that key create a DWord value called SMSNoSentMsg and set its value to 1 , soft reset and it is done. Do not forget this change will be lost if you hard reset.
