Re: HTC Mogul Upgraded to WM 6.1 "breaks" ActiveSync
Hello all. I've been 'lurking' for a few weeks. I wanted to add my experience with this issue.
I have 2 systems, a work system which is running XP/Office 2003, with Active Sync. My home system is a Vista/Office 2007 with mobile center.
From the moment I flashed my phone to Verizon's WM6.1, this problem had occured. I tried cleaning both systems, wiping the phone, resetting everything. Other than causing lots of issues with my work Exchange meetings, nothing changed. The problem remained.
As a side note, I tried WM6.1 with Verizon months ago with an unofficial verizon rom, and had the same issue. I love WM6.1 except for this issue. It actually allowed me to enjoy having a smartphone that I didn't have to reboot 1-2 times a day due to lag.
I hope they can fix this soon! I need my life back in sync!

Re: HTC Mogul Upgraded to WM 6.1 "breaks" ActiveSync
Hello everyone. I've been scouring the net all day trying to find a solution to this problem and came across this board. I have a Motorola Q9C from Verizon and it has worked great since July. However, I was 'foolish' enough to fix something that wasn't broken and updated to Windows 6.1 and now I'm having the problem syncing between 2 computers as well. As long as I only sync with 1, it's no problem. As soon as I add the 2nd PC, then the other PC won't sync. I have a Windows XP with SP3 at work, and at home I'm running Windows VISTA 64-Bit edition. Again, all worked flawlessly up until I "upgraded" to Windows Mobile 6.1. Very frustrating situations since this is suppose to make my work life easier, not more complicated. I'm glad I held onto my old Palm T/X "just in case". I've gone through my Outlook and deleted all duplicate entries, etc. Now tonight, when I get home, I'm going to try and create a new profile and .pst in Outlook and see how it goes. I don't have high expectations, but I guess it's worth a shot. Very disappointing.

Re: HTC Mogul Upgraded to WM 6.1 "breaks" ActiveSync
Hi, I am maybe dim but I like to suggest the following. When you have a good synced mobile phone, you always keep the correct item on the phone in stead of letting the PC intervene and correct the item there? I try to explain what I mean. I always wondered why there are two possibilities to correct the info on your phone (or PC for that matter). I'm using a non-English Window XP so I can't tell exactly what you see on your ActiveSync. But you have two choices of syncing your info. When encountering a conflict, who should take presidence of the info? Should the item be replaced on the phone or should the item be replaced on the PC? I reverted to 'replace on the PC' and now I have no more troubles with syncing a home PC and a work PC with my Touch Pro as a go-between with zero failures. But because this looks so simple, it can't be the whole solution. So caveat emptor.

Hees - Thanks for this. I think this is an excellent suggestion. The only challenge I see is that there's more of a burden on the user to be absolutely certain that the phone data is always the most up to date. I know for myself, at least, I often change info while I'm on the PC, and would have to be much more diligent about managing my phone data to make this work. Still, it sounds like a very viable workaround for those who are organized enough.

Yeah - this is a really frustrating problem. I work on my PC at home and at work and the Q is my conduit and 'hub'. I have all my email from Google with iMap and then all my contacts, calendar, and tasks. Not being able to sync between the 2 PCs is ridiculous and really defeats the whole purpose of having the windows mobile device in the first place. Right now I'm trying to 'work around' it by syncing with nothing checked, then adding each item one by one until it's sync'd. Although I seem to end up with some duplicates here and there for some reason. I'm close to calling Verizon and demanding they give me a new Q with 6.0 on it since 6.1 breaks the device.

Re: HTC Mogul Upgraded to WM 6.1 "breaks" ActiveSync
Both myself and my co-worker have a tilt running win mo 6.1 and using exchange server 2007 and activesyn 4.5. Both of our phones quit syncing last week (on different days). The problem we were having was the calendar would not sync, he tried the fixes here but they did not work. What i just found (and seems to simple to be the fix for all of this dissussion) but it fixed both of our phones. was to open actisync on our phone and go to menu, status. on the status screen i found a calendar item that i created on my phone but failed to sync to my pc my co-worker found 2 items he created on his phone and failed to synch to his pc. we deleted these turned direct push back on and now our calendars, email, etc are working again!!! hope this helps.
