Very good questions Bill!! I must say I voted for #1  I personally sell mobile devices directly to customers, end users, or small businesses.

I would also have to give half a vote to # 2

  • I work in the mobile industry and indirectly sell or support the sales of devices to customers or end users.
  • Only because many times I hear the infamous "I hate this phone....I need something that I can use for everything. And I reach into my black bag and had either a dummy phone or a demo phone which I carry mostly dummy phones around and let the device and WM do the selling! Stick out tongue I just sit back and answer questions....

I sell to end users and small businesses.  The tough part about my market is the number of college students who just want a qwerty to text with and don't see the need for WM.

So your college-age customers aren't interested in Office Mobile, push e-mail, or Web browsing? It seems like they'd be prime candidates for all three...

They are the candidates, but most college-age customers think of their phone as fun time, and not for work.  I really don't have a college kid that is too concerned about e-mail anymore either.  SMS is the app.

If I bring up Mobile Office or unlimited e-mail, I get the response of "Why? This is my phone, it's for communication, not work.  Plus, I don't have 30 dollars a month for internet on my phone."

Building value in mobile net usage means tying it into social networking, sports, or video with most teen/college set people, else they can't see the value.

I have a 20 year old son - he occassionally reads his email - but is always texting and always on facebook. And mention WORD documents Hmm - they're not that interested - they don't have the same desire to keep up with their school work as we do with our work. Why would they want to be able to work on their essays when they are out and about Tongue Tied

Had to say Other.   Don't sell or support sales.  I support the devices themselves.

Current Device - HTC Touch Pro- Ask me about this device
