Keep your Coupons on your Phone?

I have mentioned a few times how I would love to have a 'wallet' in my phone and this article  from the New York Times about having coupons delivered to your phone encouraged me. Paper really clutters our life, and personally I hate to collect coupons but then could kick myself when I then don't have that coupon on me when I go to the store or restaurant.

It depends on the place accepting the coupons. If it is an emailed coupon or barcode. You can use them as if they were on paper. I have virtually printed coupons, screen captured it, saved it to a JPG and emailed it to myself. It has worked at BestBuy, Circuit City and or local pizza shop. As long as they have the coupon code to punch in at the register it should be fine. Some merchants do require that they have physical copy of the coupon to close out registers. A few places in Boston actually use just email coupons through a special service on daily and weekly specials and the phone barcode is scanned, its pretty cool!Cool

    Welcome to the Connection, Steven.

That's a great idea. I think I shall also scan in my paper coupons and email them to myself.

Just before you do, check with the retailer if they except them, most do! Smile

I usually remember when I get to the store that I have a coupon, and then it's too late because they are at home - so at least this way, I can't be any worse off Big Smile
