    Issues with Smaller ISP's

I have a customer that set up three email accounts with smaller regional ISP's.  He is using a WM 6.1 device.  He had no issues setting up the account.  However, he can only send mail, he can't receive email on these three accounts.

    Any solutions?

     Thank you

In the Email set up there is an Advanced Setting tab - you may need to check the box next to 'Require SSL Incoming/Outgoing e-mail'

    Re: Issues with Smaller ISP's

It would be good to know a bit more about the setup.

e.g. If he was using only WiFi to sync the mail,  connected to an ISP connection,  he may have to specifiy a different outgoing mail server.

    • I'd get him to try focusing on one email account while he is trying to get it working,
    • Confirm what type of data connection he is using,
    • Get him to confirm the incoming and outgoing servers for his email service, as they may be different.
    • Confirm SSL settings like Laura mentioned.

Sometimes it is the strangest thing.  E.g. A friend of mine bought an iphone and he could only recieve mail, and not send. And it turned out he needed to specifiy a username and password for both outgoing and incoming, although it didn't report any authentication issues.

There shouldn't be an issue with setting up mutiple email accounts... I've certainly had it working.  It might be helpful to list the ISP's so we can see what their requirments are.

It's likely to be something with the Authentication settings. A lot of ISP's will provide settings if asked for just this type of operation.
