I just saw over at WMExperts a note that Verizon had sent text messages to someQ9c owners about a vulnerability that affects some Windows Mobile 6 versions of the phone. According to Verizon:
We have a solution for a
problem some Q9c owners have experienced, and we wanted to make sure
you received the message.
Your Q9c may freeze when starting up. You may not have seen this
problem - not all Q9c owners do. Either way, with a few simple steps,
you can ensure that this problem does not happen to your Q9c.
- Go to Start->System Tools->Memory Manager
- Read the top value on the screen, labeled "Device Storage". Is the value
48.94MB?
The fact that your Device Storage value reads 48.94 MB means that your Q9c is
VULNERABLE. There are two ways to fix the issue, either upgrade to
Windows Mobile 6.1 or Master Reset your device.
The information on either installing WM 6.1 or performing a master reset can be found here.
