In a previous posting in this thread I disagreed with Spb Mobile Shell ...
Hmm, actually, I have to admit that I revised my point of view, I needed to.
It has changed since a presentation held in our last user group meeting.
Such presentations (internal by members and external by guests) take place since we founded our group "CLUB POCKET PC MUNICH" 6 years ago, continously every month, and we all learnt a lot.
They are never sales promos, but purely interactive including in-depth questions-and-answers, first hand and background information, sometimes non-official and even pre-release.
It sometimes takes quite some efforts to maintain this content focused approach with dedicated (ever changing) topics, be it due to preparing and creating the presentations ourselves or identifying guests and fixing appointments,
but the benefits for our members were compelling and they always appreciated these efforts.
This time, actually the first time we had Spb as guests and topic, it was a "home run" for them.
Olya Gachko from Spb in St. Petersburg (Russia) visited us and Jakob Ginzburg, German support for Spb, and meanwhile also member in our local Munich group, held the presentation.
Jakob did a really great job, went through all of the extended functionality, answered all questions and demonstrated the professional, consistent, flexible, user friendly, touch enabled and ground-breaking approach of Spb Mobile Shell (current version 2.1).
As always, You need to give it a try and really look closer before expressing a precipitate disapproval.
Bottom line:
Spb Mobile Shell now also belongs to MY coolest applications for Windows Mobile !
Not only because it is a great piece of software with excellent functionality and usability, but especially because Spb managed to perfectly integrate all of it into the current OS and GUI.
I was extremely and positively surprised that I couldn't find the suspected inconsistencies I worried about before and also knew from "similar" applications by other software manufacturers.
So, also, well done, Spb, a really great job.
