"The HTC Touch Diamond is starting to hit store shelves in Europe. People in the United States who can't wait to get their hands on this device can purchase the European version now.
This hotly-anticipated smartphone is available to U.S. consumers at the grey-market retailer Dynamism for $750.
Earlier this week, the CompUSA and TigerDirect were offering this model, but are no longer doing so.
Anyone in the U.S. considering picking up the Diamond should be aware that this is a tri-band GSM phone that does not offer the frequencies used for 3G wireless networking in this country.
This means that while those who have service through a GSM carrier like AT&T and T-Mobile can get voice and 2.5G data service, this model is not be able to connect to 3G networks.
Later this year, the Diamond will be officially released in the United States, and this version will offer full support for the wireless frequencies used in N. America."
