Following closely behind HTC, who are beginning to build their own brand here in the US, MWg is now announcing its intentions to do the same. A July 8 press-release says:

“MWg has established a full operation in the US focused on developing MWg as a recognized brand in the region.” said Kevin Scheier, General Manager of MWg America. “The Zinc II is the first new device to be released in this market and will be sold unlocked through various channels including retailers, e-tailers, corporate resellers and systems integrators.” 

Certainly, plenty of people are excited about the Zinc II, which features embedded SiRFStar III GPS embedded. What do you think of this news?

I have been following MWg closely also, expansys is one of our vendors so we will be carrying the MWg product line later this year.

The devices have received reasonable reviews from what I've seen so far and are more attractively priced I think than the HTC devices.
