    Alternative to WMplayer

Any suggestions for a good video player?  Most of my stuff is Divx, and WMplayer won't support natively.

Or for a free alternative you can still pick up the Beta of Coreplayer called TCPMP. More here: http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/test/

As Coreplayer is such a great product, I like to encourage people to pay for the commercial product - plus it's a much easier to download - just one install includes all you need.

That's true indeed, but how do you know it's what you need before you buy it? I don't believe there's a trial is there?

You're right - there's no trial - but everyone wants this product Stick out tongue It's definitely the first piece of software I load on every device.

    Re: Alternative to WMplayer

I have been using the free beta of TCPMP for a long time now and it works faultlessly.

The new Core Player offers so more much, including more codecs and a finished GUI.

I am very tempted to buy Core Player on the back of how good the free beta is.

Here is a review to help you decide.

CorePlayer looks awesome, a few questions toyou that have it:

Can the same license be used on Professional and Standard devices? I change devices all the time, and don't like paying twice for the same software.

Currently I'm using PocketMusic with the AAC plugin on my Glofiish X800 (Professional device) device and are looking for something that supports both AAC (most of my music is in AAC (not Apple DRM) and supports A2DP for my HTC S730 (Standard device).

I have CorePlayer for PalmOS, and it's the best player for that platform.

I'm paying for a WM licence when I get paid this week.

I don't think so - I tried to redownload the cab file to my Dash , but this didn't work as my original download was for a Pocket PC and and The Dash rejected this as not intended for this device. So I would have to go back and purchase the correct SmartPhone version.

There's definitely a different version for both Standard and Professional. I've not seen anything to suggest you can use the same licence on multiple devices though. It's fair enough really, there is a lot of trust involved in that business model and too many people take advantage. ALK have an excellent way of managing their Copilot licences. You can basically port it across as many devices as you like as long as you unregister it from the active device before putting it on the next. If you have an active internet connection on your device (who doesn't these days) you can unregister it in literally seconds and then registering it again takes seconds too. It's really good way to do it.
