Active Sync stopped working

    Active Sync stopped working

    Active Sync stopped working ever since I disconnected my unlimited data plan, when I trouble shoot using ActiveSync scan tool it shows up Exchange server not set up in Outlook.What should I do, cannot use cingular MMS as the server name as I dont want to incur any charges.

    P.S I use only wifi to get on the net

    As Laura says, it would help to know more about your specific setup. However, you should be able to connect just fine over Wi-Fi to an Exchange Server. On my WM 6 phone, I tried syncing with our company's Exchange Server over Wi-Fi, with the phone's cellular connection turned off, and it worked as expected, except for one tricky thing. I was logged into a corporate hotspot, so at first I put "Private Network" as the type of Wi-Fi connection. That didn't connect to the Internet at all, so I had to go back to connection settings and choose "Internet" as the Wi-Fi connection type. Maybe just checking your connection settings will help resolve the issue...

     Hi All

     Thanks for your reply however I dont understand what do you mean by setup, can you tell me what information do you want, Where should I be checking and what should I be checking?

     I am trying to sync my WM5 PPC with my windows xp desktop and it does not connect, i checked the troubleshooting tool and it says exchange server not setup on outlook. When I check outlook email SERVER config it just shows Cingular MMS 

    Pls Advise

    Hi Samyjoey - thanks for coming back - are you using an Exchange server for your email? Is it your personal email account or a business email account?

     Thanks for the quick reply

    Personal email acct, well i dont use outlook or the exchange server at all so whatever generic setup is there on all ATT(HTC) pda's would apply.
