    WAP on Blackjack WM6.0

I've got a customer with an unlocked blackjack running WM 6.0.  Will it take WAP?

I put in the GPRS settings and I'm not sure if it needs a proxy set up to run it.  Whenever I go to IE, it won't find the pages.

I don't have a WM 6 Blackjack in front of me, but I remember that I always seemed to mess up the "Connects to:" and "Authentication Type" fields in the GPRS settings, preventing me from getting onto the Internet...

[EDIT: Actually, I only see "Authentication Type" on my 6.1 phone - The WM 6 phone I'm testing with only has the usual "Connects to", "Access point", user name and password, and DNS and IP address entries.]

We are our own provider, so we have our own settings.  I just didn't know if it would work on our network.

well since you are your own network provider...I assume you are a GSM provider operating in the 850/1900/2100 MHz. this is what you need to know to config GPRS

    EDGE/GPRS:

    Connects to: The Internet

Access Point: wap.voicestream.com <----(this is T-mobile - replace with your AP)

    User name: ‘blank’

    Password: ‘blank’

    Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0  <----replace

    Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0   <-------replace

IP address: ‘blank’   <-------replace if needed

you probably will need to setup proxy also

    I hope this helps

    Re: WAP on Blackjack WM6.0

Thanks, yrless. These are pretty standard settings, and I don't see why they wouldn't work without a proxy. Perhaps there's an additional step needed with IE: It's that famous "Automatically detect settings" option. Try unchecking this, and setting "Select network" to "The Internet."

    Hi,
WIndows Mobile does support WAP 2.0.  However you have to setup the APN for either HTTP or WAP.  So check to see what APN you are using and it's capabilities.

Sorry for the lack of updates.  I haven't had the phone back in for a while to run some of the settings you guys have posted.  We are a GSM carrier but do not offer native support for the Blackjack and they don't want data.  IF the customer was wanting to add the data, it would be no problem.
