Screen Comparison - iPhone vs Nokia N95

For me, the most important feature on my next phone will be screen size and quality. So this article which compared the screens of the iPhone and the Nokia N95 caught my attention. Steve Litchfield from All About Symbian compares the screens in terms of size and brightness. Check out his article here.

Hi Laura, have you considered the new Blackberry 9000 / Bold?

I have seen this device running a movie clip and does look pretty impressive!

I Phone would be my choice out of the two you quoted, but it is such a bulky device for my use.Big Smile

With the Bold you have push email with Blackberry too! Handy for all those post replies! Big Smile

Blackberry - what's that??? - no I would not consider a Blackberry - it would need to be a Windows Mobile device - I already get push email because I have a Live Hotmail account. Then I have an AT&T Tilt which comes with 'Xpress Mail' and that pushes my Comcast mail.

I'm still waiting to get my hands on the new HTC Advantage.

    LOLBig Smile

Silly me should have guessed you wouldn't want a B/B!

Still you did say you wanted a gooooood screen, and I was impressed! ( I'm easily impressed Wink )

Advantage? Why would you want to carry around a cash register? Stick with the I Phone. LOL

I want the Advantage because I don't want to always carry a laptop with me though I do have a cute Sony Vaio, and the screen on my TILT is just too small to do anything really useful. Also  I always have my purse with me, so it's not so bad to carry something larger than a TILT though smaller than the Sony Vaio. A WM device is also much easier than a laptop to have on the go due to instant on and battery life.

Thanks Adam - I was trying to point this out discreetly - don't know why (why I was being discreet that is)?

Big nice screens aren't always good though,  only a few of the games we recieved from WinPlay will run properly on my Diamond :(

This may be the case until the majority of device are using VGA screens.

Developers have to write their programs/games for the largest sector of the market as possible. We are seeing increasing numbers of VGA specific versions and software which works well on all screen sizes (QVGA, VGA, WQVGA, WVGA, Square QVGA, Square VGA).

I really want Windows Mobile for the instant on and battery life - but I did think about the HTC Shift and might still consider it.

I saw somewhere that you can hack the Windows Mobile part of the HTC Shift to have more applications and functionality. The out-of-box version of its Windows Mobile side is a bit limiting.

Does the HTC Shift have both Windows Mobile and Vista?

     Yes,

But from using it its not really a Windows Mobile OS in full. It feels more like a flash simulation of a windows mobile device, I was quite disapointed.  It seems like its just a skin for vista really..  I know its not, but the implementation of WinMo on this device was poor. (In my opinion.) Overall the device is fantastic though.
