Do you travel without your Laptop?

I saw an article on InformationWeek asking if the Smartphone is the new laptop. It asks if you would ditch your laptop when travelling in favor of a mobile device.

If I am out for just a few hours, then my Windows Mobile device is just fine, but if I am away from my home for any longer I do like to take my portable laptop.

So I just wondered how long anyone here is able to stay away from their main computer and how long you can go relying just on your mobile device.

How long can you work on just your Windows Mobile Device

I have found that I don't die if I am away from my main computer for more then a few hours but emails and business sure can stack up in a hurry and I just end up spending more time trying to dig out. I know I am in a sad state but hey I am relaxed on a computer and heck most of my friends live in this laptop also.. Smile

When working with clients I make sure I use my WM device...to show how easy it is to access emails, internet and documents that are needed in a possible business daily need. Since I have a keyboard on my device....I am comfortable not having my laptop around! Stick out tongue

I'm like yrless. Doing most of my stuff with my device. And tomorrow I'm getting the new Xperia X1 so my hopes are that the need for the laptop will deminish.

I usually take a Tytn 2 on holiday with me. I find that's perfectly adequate for just keeping up to date with my personal stuff. If out on business I'd prefer to take an ultra portable laptop.
