    Outlook 2007 Free Trial

As people have been discussing elsewhere on the site, the full desktop version of Office Outlook is not included in the box with Windows Mobile phones. This isn't a big deal for people who already use Outlook on the desktop, but it can be a concern for some.

However, thanks to a push in the right direction from our local gurus, we've discovered that there is good news for people who don't already have Outlook installed on their PC! A 60-day free trial of Outlook 2007 is packaged with Windows Mobile phones, and is also available as a download from Microsoft. So new owners can be up and syncing right away with the full version of Outlook. The trial version isn't anything brand-new - just something we finally noticed!

After the end of the 60-day trial period, you can either purchase the application, or you'll see significantly reduced functionality of the application.

Some US colleges have programs like this as well if they have purchased Microsoft Office site licenses for their facilities. Typically you can purchase media from your university for $15-$50 depending on the version of the program.

The only draw back is that you have to uninstall it after you finish school. :(

I know for sure that Carnegie Mellon University has this offering, but students should check in with their college or university if they're not sure.
