    Respondable email to post

I havent tried this, so i dont know if you have it already.

But on some forums i use, when you get a notification about a post. You can reply to the email and it will append it to the post.

This would be invaluable for traveling when all you have is a device, and you can shoot off a quick reply instead of logging in.

edit-Basically,  When you recieve an email notification about a post it has an ID in the subject. When the user responds without modifying the subject, it will recieve this and then append to the post.

Your login is very basically handled by the fact that you are sending it from your own email.

This sounds like a very useful feature  - Andrea or Bill should be able to tell us if this is possible.

That would be very cool, and it will go on our list of things to look at as future enhancements. At the moment, we just have the notification emails with the link into the thread. However, one obstacle we may hit with any enhancements to the existing functionality is Live ID - I can't tell you right now if direct email replies are even possible given the way Live ID security is set up.

Yeh,  I agree, the main obstacle is dealing with windows live authentication.

I was looking around online and this article goes into the process. Here

Now, its not for windows live, but it covers the theory. You set up a "courier" that  has the ability to post on behalf of a user. This courier accepts emails that contain certain parameters, including, a generated id sent out with the notification, it has to be a "reply to" and has to be from the designated users email.

In that instance we just have to be able to "post-on-behalf of" a user.  Just make sure you use a capital letter in the password and keep it safe now!

A bit open i know. It would be good if there was a way around it.
