    Twitter, Jaiku, Pownce

    Who uses these?

Where do you use them, on your phone, PC, or both?

    Why do you like them?

I use all 3, Pownce pretty much on desktops due to the file-sharing aspect.  Twitter I use via SMS and GTalk on my Blackjack and desktops, Jaiku get the m. treatment on my Blackjack, then the main web client on desktops.

I love them because they have the potential of supercedeing IRC as a group medium, plus they are getting so extensable.

Ashamed to say i have not heard of any of these, checking them out now.

Still, there's something nice about IRC. its one of the best performing cross-platform apps (Even though it is fairly basic, so this isnt hard). Theres just something nice about it.

Edit: wmIRC is always on my devices.  I like how i can still be an IRCop on my device when im on the train, all the commands are there etc.

I love wmIRC, but these services are more extensable.  They can be used on mobiles, desktops, SMS.  There are tons of apps that mashup these services.

    Re: Twitter, Jaiku, Pownce

     I use Twitter and Jaiku.

Twitter in Norwegian and Jaiku in English.

I prefer Jaiku, it's got better threading, RSS import functionality, groups, and a sexier look.

...but most of my friends that use a microblog, use Twitter... so I use both.

I use them from my mobile mostly, (not SMS, the m.url stuff) and on the desktop I mostly use the IM-bot's through GTalk.

I have an Pownce account, but no friends there, and there are all these annoying spambots that keep sending friend requests, so I've mostly forgotten abouth it.

    Re: Twitter, Jaiku, Pownce

Recently i found a new software called TwitToday ! this is the greatest Twitter app for Windows Mobile ever, its more like today plugin since it place a text field at your today screen and gives you the ability to post your twits directly with just one tap, plus that its just 20kb !

    download TwitToday

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

of course there are some other Twitter clients made for Windows Mobile arround,

i will start with ceTwit which is a little more advanced and shows your twitter history:

    download ceTwit v1.3

     --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another one i've tried is HelloTwitFace, it's similar to the ceTwit but it also has Facebook interface and HelloTxt

     download HelloTwitFace v2.0

     --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I personaly use a solution called Ping.fm which post my message to Twitter, Jaiku and Facebook at one time by just one click !

To test it please visit http://www.ping.fm

the mobile interface is available at http://ping.fm/m

    Best Regards

I thought about using Twitter, but then I noticed Facebook has the ability to display your status which you can change by SMS, Email, or just by logging on to the mobile Facebook on your mobile.

Ahmed, I use Facebook SMS as well, but I have Twitter integrated into Facebook, so when I Twitter, it automatically changes my Facebook status as well.
