Live account on Outlook Mobile
Here's my scenario: I set up an account on Outlook Mobile using Windows Live for Mobile. This is for my business only, and I don't let it interfere with my personal email account. I would also like to set up my personal Live email account on Outlook Mobile. Since I'm already using Windows Live for Mobile with my Business account, the only alternative is to set it up using Outlook Mobile's 'New E-mail Account' wizard. When I try to set up the personal Live account, it just says that it was able to get the settings for it automatically. Then when I hit next, it takes me to the hotmail website without adding an account to Outlook Mobile. Is there a way around this? All I need, is to add two different @live.com accounts to my Outlook Mobile. Thanks, I'm excited to be here and excited because I'm a new Windows Mobile user. I'm not a complete newb, I work at Geek Squad and I'm familiar with Windows Mobile, but I just recently got my first device. I have an AT&T Tilt running Windows Mobile 6.0

Re: Live account on Outlook Mobile
Welcome esanchez1990.
You can do this by setting up the account manually. So uncheck the option to get the settings automatically, then set it up as a pop3 account.
The settings are :
incoming server : pop3.live.com
outgoing server : smtp.live.com
Hope this helps.

Re: Live account on Outlook Mobile
But only the one set up through Windows Live will have push and contact syncing capabilities.

Are there any other options that I need to check? like Authentication? See, what's happening, is that when it tries to sync w/ the server, it asks me for my login information again. I'll fill it out, hit ok, and It'll just ask me for it again. It never takes my login and downloads the emails.

Re: Live account on Outlook Mobile
I haven't done this on my mobile as I only have one live account, but I did set it up as a pop3 account in OUTLOOK , and looking at those settings:
The outgoing server does NOT require authentication.
From the setup screen for the outgoing server, click on 'Advanced Server Settings' , then on that next screen, select SSL for incoming mail.
Let us know if this helps.

Tried that but it does the same thing. Once I hit Send/Receive, it shows 'Connecting...', then 'Logging On...', then it asks me for my 'Incoming Email Password'. It says to Check user name and password and try again. I KNOW this is correct, because i can log in on any other browser using the same login info. Then the cycle loops forever, it always asks for my login. It never downloads anything.

Re: Live account on Outlook Mobile
Laura Rooke:did you check the box to save your password when you enter your password? Sure did, but it makes no difference, and it is unchecked again every time it asks me to log in. Sorry for the trouble... And I really appreciate you trying to help me.

Re: Live account on Outlook Mobile
Laura Rooke:OK - so I tried this on another device - and got same result, but I found that the username was incorrect. If I changed it to include @msn.com, then this worked. what do you m ean by 'to include' as in instead of typing @live.com, i should type @msn.com?

Re: Live account on Outlook Mobile
Thanks for troubleshooting, Laura. I think I get it: If someone's user name on live.com is "example", they should enter "example@live.com" when Outlook asks for their user name to log into the account. Is that correct? esanchez1990 - let us know if this works for you. This could be a valuable tip for other users... Thanks!
