Windows Live Now Available for Download!

Great news! Windows Live for Windows Mobile is now available as a free download (although without Messenger included). You may have seen the full Windows Live suite on some WM phones, but not all operators are installing it. Now, your customers can download most of the Live apps direct to their devices. As Jason Langridge mentions in his blog, the download means that

"all users can receive the advantages of push Hotmail access, Windows Live Contacts synchronization, a Live Search bar for their homescreen and one-click photo upload to Windows Live Spaces."

    Sweet!

Download link (works with mobile devices):

Just sent this out in an e-mail to my Data Manager, who is an MS fan.

Messenger, at least for me, is the most lively part of Live.

Kinda like having a Ferrari, but with an engine from a 1972 Pinto.

it's because most carriers use OZ Instant Messaging for their phones, which uses SMS, not data.

AT&T Xpress Mail has been flaking out on me with my live.com address, so I just installed this, and it's nice.

This is huge for anyone that has an AT&T or Verizon Windows Mobile device.

Great, but Windows Live, without windows live messenger, is not a good thing.

I have buyed the LG KS20, that here in Europe have made great success, I thought that It should had Live Messenger, but there isn't.

And the Carrier, Three in Italy, don't allowed to download it.

I don't want to install it from *** site, I want it original, I have also think to sell the phone.

WL has not been available since it was announced. The link has been down since the middle of May.

Hi Guys and welcome to the Forum Big Smile

Orange UK have pulled a similar 'trick' whereby it did not come originally installed. That was so they could charge 5p per message for their own Orange branded IM service.

You can get the official Windows Live Mobile download from the Microsoft site here.

I know that Orange don't stop you from installing it. I don't know about Three Italy.

The link was working for a while there, but seems to be down again till middle of June.

Re: Windows Live Now Available for Download!

    Hey, everyone -

As the always-informed Biomehanika notes, the individual Windows Live apps (INCLUDING Messenger) are now available for download one-by-one from a new site, where you can enter your mobile # and receive a download link on your phone.

    The main page is: http://www.gowindowslive.com/Mobile/Landing/Home/Default.aspx

I don't know if this is a new strategy or not, but it's certainly very, very interesting - I don't think MS has ever offered Live this way before, as far as I know.
