UK Royal Mail to Roll Out 30,000 Windows Mobile Devices.

Royal Mail have just announced that they will roll out 30,000 Intermec Windows Mobile devices to their Postal Workers.

I currently work for one of the major UK couriers and we are currenlty working on an update to the CN3 Intermec Windows Mobile devices (not cheap at $1600 a piece).

Whenever I sign for a parcel, the delivery agent always hands me a Windows Mobile device for signature capture.

That's a lot of kit. I wonder which version of WM they'll be running and on what sort of devices?

We are currently using the Intermec CN3s which are running Windows Mobile 5.0

This is a very sturdy device with built a in barcode scanner. it also has a heavy duty battery to last a full routes deliveries.

The above image from the Computing site shows the keypad of the device which they are using. It is the same layout as the CN3.
