    Badges

    Hey guys,

I've seen some of you have your certs below your names, and i can't find where to enable this.  Can someone give me a hand showing them?

    Regards

    David

    Re: Badges

Welcome David. The certificates come from completeing the courses on the Windows Mobile Training site. There are a number of really useful courses here covering most things about Windows Mobile.

    Re: Badges

The specialist badges you see are from doing the relevant courses from the Windows Mobile Training. Anyone can register and go through these courses. Each course is between 5 and 20 minutes with a quiz at the end of each. Then there is a test at the end of a series of courses that give you the specialist tag. Try the courses - they're fun.

    Re: Badges

These badges should come up automatically - so we'll keep our eyes on this.

Thanks for doing all the courses - hope you enjoyed them.

    Re: Badges

Gaute - I still don't see your badges yet.

Could you try something for me:

Click on 'Home', then from there click on 'Visit Windows Mobile Training Now', then 'Specialist Certification'

-- do you see the message 'Congratulations - You are a Certified Windows Mobile Specialist' ?

    Re: Badges

    Hi Gaute -

Did you use the same Live ID to register on Windows Mobile Training that you used on the forum? If you have different credentials the badges won't show up.

It can also take up to 24 hours for the system to update. If it isn't updated tomorrow, I can run a check and add this for you manually.

    Thanks!

    Andrea

    Re: Badges

    Gaute,

Once you do the 6 required tests you will find another test of 32 or 24 questions you need to score at least 80% on to get your certificates. Once you have done those final exams then the certs will automaticlly appear.

    Re: Badges

Yes I used the same Live account.

Yes, I have passed all the tests, even the two "big ones", I have the certificates printed out in front of me right now.

...and yes, when I check the training, all tests are marked as completed and on the two "big ones" it says that I'm certified.

BTW: Yesterday I wasn't able to log into the forums... I just ended up in an eternal loop, that's why I haven't replied before now.

    Re: Badges

Gaute, I see your certifications now. Looks like the issue was fixed. Not by me, though. This either was addressed by another Admin, or it was one of those "self-fixing" bugs.

    Re: Badges

    Hi Gaute,

The logic error in our server code that was making your first account not work was also preventing Windows Mobile Training from passing on the certification information.

So, fixing one fixed the other.

    Hurray!

Thanks again to everyone for being patient with ironing out our bugs. We only had Windows Mobile Training users on the site during beta, so we didn't know there would be some potential hitches when folks joined the forum before signing up for the training site.

If anyone else has a problem with this or other technical things relating to your account, please feel free to send any of the admins or moderators a message and we'll do our best to get it taken care of.

    -Andrea
