    Who uses Voice Command?

I just picked up a copy of Voice Command for Smartphones, and I like it.  I'm still having issues with my Jawbone, but I think it's more user error than anything.

What are some good tips for a VC newb?

I use VC....and love it....best tip I can give is speak clearly and slow at first....At first I had issues using it with my Z9 BT....but after I started speaking slower...everything worked out. Now I just talk in a normal tone and VC works great...especially when I'm driving and need something on my Qtek.

Voice Command is great.  Just keep in mind that if you're in an area with moderate to loud ambient noise, Voice Command will not work nearly as well.  However, it's still a killer app.

    Re: Who uses Voice Command?

Successful Voice Command recognition also depends a lot on the quality of your Bluetooth radio, memory, and processor.

The HTC Prophet and latest Kaiser have decent bluetooth radios and get great voice recognition. Many other especially older devices weren't very good at transmitting and translating bluetooth audio.

So if you're not getting good results, there are plenty of possible things to blame!

Also, read the Help file to learn what commands it recognizes. Some commands support more than one way of saying it, and the other way may be easier for it to recognize.

    Re: Who uses Voice Command?

By the way, my Voice Command setup is a little hard to show off sometimes, but it is extremely cool...

I have a Kaiser (usually), with a BlueAnt Interphone on a motorcycle. The Interphone's noise reduction is not as good as my in-ear bone conduction microphone headset, but still works quite well. With Voice Command, I can hear my appointments, text messages and email announcements as they happen while on the motorcycle. I can hear the name of an incoming caller and simply say "Answer" to start talking to them without taking my eyes off the road or my hand off the throttle.

A button on the side lets me activate Voice Command so that I can tell it to call people or find out what time it is. This type of recognition works best when going slow. It's like having the Microsoft Sync in-car computer inside my helmet. The only thing missing is the ability to control a GPS navigation program.
